Candle care

Do I have to trim my candle’s wick?

Yes please! In order to maximize your candle’s burning time, please trim your wick to about 0.6cm before burning your candle. The easiest way to do this is by using a scissor, nail clipper or wick trimmer. You should regularly trim the wicks of your candles to ensure a crisp burn.

What is the right way to burn my candle?

Burning your candle the right way is so important. So what does that look like?

First, trim your wick!

Do not blow out your candle before it has reached a full melt pool (the entire top layer of wax must be melted) or it will begin to tunnel.

When your candle has reached a full melt pool, around the 3-4 hour mark, extinguish the flame. Wait for the wax to completely solidify before trimming your wick and lighting it again.

Never let your candle burn more that 5 hours.

I had to put my candle out before it reached a full melt pool, how do I fix the tunnelling?

It’s actually very simple! Wrap your candle in tinfoil and let it burn until it reaches a full melt pool. Extinguish the flame and wait for it to cool before removing the tinfoil. Please do not remove it while it’s still hot!

Why does my candle have a rough/bumpy surface after burning it?

This too is very common for soy wax. Due to the nature of soy wax, it tends to solidify unevenly, it will not affect your candle’s burn.

Why is my candle sweating?

Sweating is when your candle has drops of oil on the surface. Sweating is perfectly normal when candles are made of soy wax. It will not affect your candle’s burn at all. If it bothers you, you can simply wipe it off with a tissue. You can also try to prevent sweating by leaving your candle in a room that is considered room temperature and not expose it to sunlight.
